APSLEY

An important London locale, a small distance west of St James’s, inspired the creation of our Apsley cologne in 2016. The great and the good of the British aristocracy have long beaten a path to our doors, and Arthur Wellesley – 1st Duke of Wellington, victor at the Battle of Waterloo and former Prime Minister – was no different. The Apsley cologne was created in his honour, its name taken from his Apsley House neoclassical abode on Hyde Park Corner. Rumour has it that if one were to post a letter to its historic address “Apsley House, 1 London”, that it would still arrive. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the house was the “first” home after the Knightsbridge toll gates from the countryside, marking it the “start” of the capital, hence the address.
